“Pioneer Computers Australia has come up with a green computing solution and the PC manufacturer is looking for resellers to push the $199 machines out to new vertical markets.
Jeff Li, managing director at Pioneer Computers, said it was looking for resellers that are working in education, government and business markets.
“There are opportunities in installation, training and support,” said Li.
According to Li, the host PC is accessed through a router or switch by multiple terminal PCs. The system enables concurrent use of programs. He claimed the terminal PCs are user friendly and easy to use and the software supports both Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems.
“The advantage of using terminal computers is that users can be added to existing PCs for a small fraction of the cost of another PC, bringing massive savings for acquisition costs, depreciation costs, licensing fees and maintenance costs to schools, businesses and government organisations,” he said.
Li claimed the DreamVision terminal PC is compact, saving space on desktops and offering a greener option. He added that without local user storage, traditional security issues can be avoided.
“The access device is drawing less than five percent of the power of a typical PC, bringing huge savings on electricity. DreamVision terminal computers are compliant with the internationally recognised Restriction of Hazardous Substances directive,” said Li.
Li told CRN that resellers were likely to make around 20 percent margin on the recommended price with one piece of machine.
“The bigger the quantity of products sold by resellers the more margins they can make.””
The more products we sell the more margins we make. We should consider these things in selling a product. In vertical market we should consider some things that we need like the margins we earn and etc.. we should also provide good service so that customers will buy your product.
